Born, raised and based in Singapore, I am a full-time working mother of two who only started my culinary journey when I had to feed my then six-month old daughter solids. She soon became a fussy eater and I had to start whipping out Annabel Karmel creations, my mom’s secret recipes, but nothing seems to please this fussy toddler more than biscuits. The same can be said about her younger brother. Oh well, they’re just taking after me and I’m sure they’ll grow up fine like momma.
I’m a really late bloomer as my mom’s kitchen has always been so sacred she simply cannot accommodate another pair of hands other than hers. So I’ve never seriously cooked until I have my very own kitchen, and kids, and met other moms like myself. We exchanged kitchen tricks and tips and voila! If Szu can cook so can you.
With the internet, it’s even easier to search for recipes, tips, watch a video on how to do almost anything.
So join me on my journey as I take you through my learning curve, my successful and not so successful attempts. Hope you enjoy this trip as much as I do.
